Interesting perspective I was raised by minister parents who loved Harry Potter…my dad loved fantasy books and encouraged reading so to ban books would go against his beliefs, even when most minister families were banning Harry Potter

Thanks Kim. My parents softened to Harry Potter over time. I chalk it up to a strange movement and fear sweeping many churches at the time. In hindsight they admitted that Harry Potter is an incredibly important book and that its themes present an excellent example for young people

Yeah my mom had an interesting take on that..she believed that if JK Rowling came out as a Christian right after releasing the Harry Potter books when they started becoming widely popular then ministries would not condone or try to ban her books…I was happy to hear when more ministers stopped and actually read the story
