When reading western philosophers, such as Kant, one feels as though the world has been desecrated to death. Great art is a balance of feeling and understanding. Art needs to start from feeling and not understanding. Otherwise you have what you get today, pure ugliness.
Exactly. I think there is a risk of losing out on the transcendent by attempting to peel back the layers of every aspect of existence. Have had this same thought when reading Enlightenment philosophy specifically.
