Thanks for the kind words James. I'll read your recent post also. Been exploring this idea a lot recently and found wisdom in Nietzsche's work and his exploration of resentment. Seems to be a motivating factor in a lot of our current social disfunction.
Nietzsche was a prophet: resentment (the dark side of egalitarianism), secularism, the erosion of traditions and old gods, the cowardice of humans in the context of institutions… there’s so much there. His prescriptions (strength, nobility, self-reliance, nonconformity) are all heavily proscribed by modern society too… which leads me to believe that they have merit.
Funny you brilliantly explore resentment; I just posted this (https://jmpolemic.substack.com/p/a-tsunami-of-digital-resentment?r=1neg52) today. I also was strongly discouraged at the tone and quality of discussion on reddit forums. Goddamn... most of those people sound miserable.
